"Goodfellas" movie review. "Goodfellas" is one of my ten favorite films of all time. I bought Goodfellas last week and I got to watch the film a couple days ago. I really just couldn't lay my eyes off the film and everything about it was just simply worth watching.

Goodfellas is a terrifying film because, like much of Scorsese's best work, it is about the lives of avuncular psychopaths, and pretty-boy Liotta brilliantly encapsulates. That Martin Scorsese has yet to win an Oscar for best director is shameful enough. A movie review by James Berardinelli.

Goodfellas certainly feels like a hit movie. And it certainly should enjoy a long ancillary afterlife. Scorsese's fast, violent, stylish mobster movie is a return to form, De Niro, and the Italian-American underworld. Goodfellas barrels along with unstoppable storytelling relish, its jukebox slams of pop music repeatedly convulsing the movie with sugar-rush excitement amounting almost to hysteria. Thanks to a bottomless empathy for the Italian-American subject matter, the eye of a poet, some.
