It always is a story about two individuals and their unapologetic love. Movie Review. "This is a story of boy meets girl. The boy, Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), ought to know this, too, because the girl, Summer (Zooey Deschanel). Perfectly played, simultaneously serious and light, endlessly inventive, this is a strong contender. Tom (Gordon Levitt) falls in love with Summer (Deschanel) but things don't go quite according to the romantic dream he has in mind. Can any good come from such a thing?

In scenes presented almost totally out of sequence, the movie unfolds like an autopsy, with days picked apart and juxtaposed against one another in an attempt to figure out the cause of death.
