Aretha Franklin occupies one of the movie's best scenes, in her South Side soul food restaurant. Cab Calloway, as a sort of road manager for the Blues Brothers, struts through a wonderful old-style production of Minnie the Moocher. The Brothers themselves star in several improbable numbers; the funniest has the band playing in a country and.
With John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Cab Calloway, John Candy. It would have had more if they'd left out the story, which would have been an excellent idea. The film is lame comedy surrounded by high-energy blues (and some pop, rock and country music).
And don't leave early: After the end credits James Brown does ``Please, Please, Please.'' It's as if director John Landis had such good James Brown. It stars John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as "Joliet" Jake and Elwood Blues, characters developed from "The Blues Brothers" recurring musical sketch on the NBC variety series Saturday Night Live. The film is set in and around Chicago, Illinois, where it was filmed. The film's screenplay was written by Aykroyd and Landis. Read the Empire Movie review of Blues Brothers, The. Trailer The Blues Brothers
The Blues Brothers is a film that has an R rating, yet has an overall vibe of a PG film. The film is constantly fun throughout and will probably be fun for older kids, however the main concern is language; there are infrequent uses of the F word and lots of uses of the S word. If you're a diehard fan, you'll want to check out.
The one complication to all of this was that the film received the dreaded "R" rating, which pretty much made it a no-go. Starring, John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. GENERAL NOTE: There are so many Bluray variations of the Blues Brothers movie that it is hard to provide a sensible review. GENERAL CONTENT: I happen to really enjoy the Blues Brothers movie both for its music and for its comedic content.
