The movie opens with Greg Focker (Ben Stiller) and Pam Byrnes (Teri Polo) still in the embrace of their interminable courtship. In the original, Pam took Greg home to meet her parents, Jack and Dina (Robert De Niro and Blythe Danner), and you will recall that Greg was a threat to Jack's beloved cat, human. Sequel to the mediocre Ben Stiller comedy "Meet The Parents" is a bawdier but inferior movie that relies on the star power of Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand as Stiller's Florida-dwelling Jewish hippie parents Bernie and Roz to.

The film stars Robert De Niro (who was also one of the film's producers), Ben Stiller. I am reviewing the sequel to Meet the Parents, which was Meet the Fockers. In this movie, Greg Focker joins his fiance's family on a road trip to meet his own. Question: What could keep a man in love waiting for two years before getting married? Meet The Fockers closely follows the original formula laid out in Meet The Parents. There is a 'calm' before the storm of jokes to come, an awkwardness early on while the characters and plot are being set up. But once Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand come into the picture as Greg's hippy parents.

Meet the Fockers differs from most other family comedies in that it has an (almost) all-star cast. I really enjoyed Meet the Parents, but i found this to be rather disappointing. Of course, any movie that makes money nowadays is all but guaranteed a sequel, and so along comes "Meet the Fockers," about the further adventures of Gaylord Focker (Stiller).
