Curtis Hanson's "In Her Shoes" takes a good half hour to make it clear it will not be a soppy chick flick, and for that matter what is "chick flick" anyway but an insulting term for a movie that is about women instead of the usual testosterone carriers? The movie's set-up would be right at home in a sitcom. After a calamitous falling out, they travel the bumpy road toward a true appreciation for one another -- aided along the way by the grandmother they never knew they had.

In Her Shoes

In Her Shoes is one movie every sibling should see (especially sisters). I for one saw it with my sister. But unlike the characters in the movie, my sister and I have a close relationship. Probably because we are so similar in alot of ways, unlike the sisters in the movie who are complete opposites. What's most nonsensical about In Her Shoes are the squandered talents of both director Curtis Hanson (whose marvelous L. Confidential and Wonder Boys display his gifts with adaptations) and Collette—a great actor, stuck being the target of fat jokes.—Melissa Anderson. "In Her Shoes" was a pretty safe movie and okay to watch.
