Mercury Review: A group of five youngsters are celebrating an occasion that holds special significance for them. It's an anniversary of the closure of a company called Corporate Earth, which was responsible for poisoning several people in a village with mercury. Mercury Rising hits a real personal spot for me as someone who has spent his entire life caring for someone with intellectual disability and now works in disability services. As a movie it may be a bit poorly plotted and ultimately rather basic, but there's an emotional authenticity to it for me that few.
